The ruling that made an app store page count as an ad
The important precedent in this whole directory. The ASA did not rule on a video ad. It ruled on the app store listing itself.
What happened. Both of Hutch's games were listed with text saying they included in-app purchases. The ASA held that this omitted material information about random-item purchasing, and upheld the complaint.
Why it matters here. It establishes that a store page is advertising, subject to the same rules as a Facebook video. That is the same reasoning later applied to Hero Wars in 2025. If you are checking a game against this site, the store page is evidence, not just the ads.
What the game is. A racing game where you customise cars, race other players and compete in tournaments.
