What the ads show. Dark scenes involving murder, dismemberment and genetic experimentation, presenting the game as a horror-tinged monster catcher.
What the game is. A fairly conventional monster-collecting RPG: capture, train and evolve creatures across a story-driven adventure.
The allegation. CBR reported that many of the visuals, assets and stories in these ads are heavily inspired by or lifted from more popular games, and that players identified scenes appearing to reproduce the indie RPG OMORI.
Status. No ruling, no lawsuit. Press coverage plus player identification. Stronger than a forum thread, weaker than a regulator.
